When we were in Michigan Kaitlyn got to meet her second cousins and great-aunts/uncles for the first time. These pictures are with Alyssa, which is Kaitlyn's closest-in-age second cousin (I think she is a second cousin...she is my cousin's daughter -- that makes her a second cousin..right?). Anyways, Alyssa was born May 19th and Kaitlyn July 11, so they are just under 2 months apart :) They were so polar opposites in looks -- each uniquely beautiful -- but they both have the "Carr" fire and flirtatious spirit in them! (For those unframiliar -- Carr is my grandparent's last name and we have a family joke that if you have certain qualities "You must have Carr blood running through those vains.")

I think technically it's a third cousin. Your 1st cousin's child is your second cousin and your child's third cousin (and your first cousin is kaitlyn's second cousin). It's wonderfully confusing isn't it?! :P
